What's worth knowing

  • Made for iPhone Duo. Open it and your list sits on one side of the fold, with the task you tap on the other. Close it mid-task and the task carries on full screen on the outer display.
  • Siri with Apple Intelligence. Ask in your own words, like "find my task about the flowers" or "how many tasks did I finish last week?", with no set phrases to learn.
  • Encrypted before it leaves the device. Tasks, lists and shared lists are encrypted on the device, so the server only ever holds encrypted data. How the encryption works.
  • Free sync everywhere. Sync between phones, tablets, the web and the desktop apps costs nothing, on every plan.
  • Easy to move to. It imports from TickTick, Todoist, Things, Microsoft To Do, Apple Reminders and Any.do, with lists, tags, repeats, subtasks, notes and completed history.
  • Resolutions that bend. A New Year's resolution becomes a milestone in your list each week, and when a week slips, Tickbase offers a new plan.
  • One developer, no investors. No ads, no tracking, and a flat price for Premium.

The story

I'm Dan, and I built Tickbase by myself. I'd spent years using other productivity apps, and to be fair, some of them are really good, but I never quite found one I was happy with. So I made the list I actually wanted: easy on the eye, quick to add to, encrypted before anything leaves your device, and with one small flat price for the extras.

Tickbase is built and run in Britain. Caesoose Studios is me, so every support email comes straight to the person who wrote the code.

Describing Tickbase

Quote either of these as they are, or cut them down.

In one sentence

Tickbase is a private to-do list and planner with everything you need to get things done, for iPhone, iPad, Android, the web, Mac, Windows and Linux, all of it encrypted on your device before it syncs.

In about 100 words

Tickbase is a to-do list and planner with everything you need to get things done, built in Britain by one independent developer. Tasks, lists, habits, countdowns and New Year's resolutions sit in one place, with natural-language quick add, a calendar and day planner, a focus timer and a weekly review. Everything is encrypted on the device before it syncs, so the server only ever holds encrypted data, and sync between iPhone, iPad, Android, the web, Mac, Windows and Linux is free. On iPhone it supports iPhone Duo's fold, Siri with Apple Intelligence, widgets and Live Activities. Premium is $12 a year, or $50 once for Lifetime until 31 March 2027.
