Founders programme

Subscribe early, and it's on the record.

Anyone who subscribes to Premium on or before [FOUNDER CUTOFF DATE] is a Founder. There is no separate plan and no separate price: it is the same $12 a year, and the same app. Three things are different, and they are the only three.

Trial days don't count; what matters is the date your first paid year starts. If you cancel and come back after the cutoff, you start over as a regular subscriber.

  • Founder
A permanent Founder badge shown in your profile and on the Achievements page. It stays with the account.
  • First to know
Founders hear about changes first. Founders are the people who made Tickbase possible. If pricing ever has to change, Founders are told before anyone else, and we will do everything we reasonably can to keep their price where it started.
  • Premium since
Your “Premium since” date is recorded when your first paid year starts and shown as a badge, so the account remembers how long you've been here.
How the trial works

Try Premium for 30 days, no card needed

1. Sign in

Sign in with Google or Apple on any device. That's the only thing an account needs. Your existing tasks come with you.

2. Use it everywhere

Premium is fully on for 30 days. Install Tickbase on your phone, laptop and desktop and watch tasks appear on all of them.

3. Decide

Pay $12 for a year of Premium, or do nothing. If you do nothing, Tickbase quietly goes back to Free on each device. Nothing is deleted.

Compare

Tickbase Free, Tickbase Premium and TickTick Premium, side by side

Every row of the Free and Premium columns is enforced in the app itself. The TickTick column only lists what its public pricing and comparison pages say; anything we haven't verified says so. Rows where every plan is the same (tags, natural-language dates, Pomodoro, JSON export and so on) are left out; the features list has them all.

AI featuresNeverNever in Premium

TickTick figures are taken from its public pricing page and may change; check ticktick.com for current information. For reference, TickTick's free tier caps lists at 9, tasks per list at 99, habits at 5, countdowns at 5, reminders at 2 per task and attachments at 1 per day, and Premium adds AI features. Cells marked “see ticktick.com” are things we haven't verified, so we don't claim them either way; “in Premium” marks features TickTick's comparison page lists for Premium.

Why $12

Why we can charge $12

Premium costs about a quarter of what TickTick Premium does, and that isn't a launch discount. Tickbase has no AI features, so there are no inference bills to pass on to you. There is no sales team, no ad spend and no investors expecting the number to go up. One small team builds and runs it. And the infrastructure behind sync is an encrypted store of small text records, which costs cents per user per year to run. $12 covers that comfortably and pays for the app to be maintained. That's the whole business model, and it's why we can lock your price.

Billing FAQ

Money questions, answered plainly

How do I pay?

On the web, payment is handled by Stripe. On iOS and Android, you subscribe through the App Store or Google Play using the billing you already have set up there. The price is the same everywhere: $12 per year.

Will the price go up?

Not for you. There is no introductory rate: $12 is the real price, not a first-year offer. We can't promise it will never change, because the cost of running the service can, but any change applies only from your next renewal and you'll hear about it by email at least 30 days beforehand. Founders hear first; see the Founders programme.

Why is anything paid at all, if Free is meant for most people?

Because some features cost us money every month. Storing your encrypted backup, syncing it between devices, sending sign-in e-mails and, later, hosting shared lists all run on servers we pay for. Everything that lives entirely on your device stays free. So the rule is simple: if a feature needs our servers, it's Premium; if it doesn't, it's free.

When lists can be shared, does everyone in the list need Premium?

No. Only the person sharing the list pays. They're the one using our servers to host it, so their Premium covers it; the people they invite can be on Free and still add, edit and complete tasks in that list. If the owner's Premium lapses the list stays readable for everyone and becomes read-only until they resubscribe. Nothing is deleted.

What happens when I hit a free limit?

The app tells you. When you try to add a sixth list, a fourth habit or countdown, or a second reminder on a task, Tickbase shows a short note saying what the free limit is and what Premium includes. Nothing is deleted or hidden: everything you already have keeps working exactly as before. Upgrading lifts the limit immediately, on every device you sign in on.

Can I pay monthly?

No. Premium is billed yearly only, which is how it stays this cheap. $12 a year works out to $1 a month.

What's the refund policy?

14 days, no questions asked. If you bought through the web, email hello@tickbase.app within 14 days of the charge and we'll refund it in full. If you bought through the App Store or Google Play, refunds are processed by Apple or Google under their policies; contact us and we'll point you to the right request page.

How do I cancel?

Web: Settings → Account → Cancel subscription. One click, no retention screens. App Store or Google Play: cancel from your subscriptions list on the device, as with any other app. Premium stays active until the end of the period you've paid for.

What happens to my data when I cancel?

Nothing is deleted. Your tasks remain on each device you've used, and you keep using Tickbase on one of them for free, with the free limits on new lists, habits, countdowns and reminders. Anything already over a free limit stays as it is. You can export a JSON copy at any time. If you delete your account, everything stored on our servers is removed.

Do you offer team or family pricing?

Not yet. Each person pays $12 a year for their own account. Shared lists are on the roadmap; pricing for them, if any, will be announced when they ship.

What is the Founders programme?

If your first paid year of Premium starts on or before [FOUNDER CUTOFF DATE], your account is marked as a Founder. You get a permanent Founder badge in your profile and achievements, your “Premium since” date is recorded and shown as a badge, and you hear about any pricing change before anyone else. Founders pay the same price as everyone else and use the same app; there are no other perks. Details above.

Will there be a more expensive tier later?

No. Two options, Free and Premium, is the whole plan. Features on the roadmap will be added to the existing app, not sold as a new tier, and never as “AI credits”.

Start with Free. Upgrade if you want sync.

No card needed for the trial. No account needed for the free app. Coming from TickTick? Export a backup there and drop the CSV into Settings → Import.
