Refund policy

Fourteen days, in full, no questions asked. This page says how to ask and what happens next.

Last updated: · Applies to Tickbase Premium

The short version

  • Within 14 days of any charge, email hello@tickbase.app and we'll refund it in full. You don't have to give a reason.
  • Bought through the App Store or Google Play? Those refunds go through Apple or Google, and we'll point you at the right page.
  • Cancelling is separate, and free: do it any time in Settings.
  • Nothing here takes away rights you have under consumer law.

1. The promise

If you are charged for Tickbase Premium and you are not happy with it, we will refund that charge in full within 14 days of it being taken. That includes Lifetime. You do not need to explain yourself, and we won't try to talk you out of it.

Gifts work the same way, with one difference: a gift can be refunded within 14 days of buying it if nobody has redeemed it yet, and the code stops working. Once someone has redeemed it, it is theirs, and it isn't refunded. Bought several at once? We refund the ones nobody has redeemed.

We would rather you never needed this. Premium starts with a 14-day free trial that takes no payment details, so you can use the whole thing before any money changes hands. The refund is there for the cases a trial can't cover: a renewal you had forgotten about, a purchase someone else made on your device, or simply changing your mind.

2. How to ask

Email hello@tickbase.app from the address on the account, or from the address the receipt was sent to. It helps if you include the date of the charge, but we can find it without.

That is the whole process. There is no form, and you will be replying to a person.

On the web, Premium is sold by our merchant of record, Paddle.com Market Ltd (Paddle.com Inc. for customers in the United States), who take the payment and issue the refund. You can ask us or ask Paddle directly — either way the money is returned by Paddle to the card or account you paid from.

3. If you subscribed in the iPhone or Android app

Subscriptions and Lifetime bought inside the mobile apps are sold by Apple or Google, not by us, and only they can refund them. We are not able to issue those refunds however much we would like to.

Email us anyway if you get stuck. We can't press the button, but we can tell you exactly where it is, and we will.

4. How long it takes

We answer refund requests within two working days, usually the same day. Once the refund is issued, the money takes as long as your bank takes — typically 5 to 10 working days to appear on a card statement. That part is out of our hands.

Apple and Google set their own timings for store purchases.

5. What happens to your account

A refund ends the subscription, so Premium stops and the account returns to Free. A refunded Lifetime puts the account back as it was before: on a yearly subscription if one is still running, otherwise on Free. Nothing is deleted. Your tasks, lists, habits and history stay exactly where they are, on every device you have, and the free version keeps working with the limits listed on the pricing page. You can export everything at any time, and you can subscribe again later if you change your mind.

6. Renewals

Premium renews once a year. We email account holders before each renewal, so it should never be a surprise — but if one does slip past you, the 14 days apply to that charge just as they do to the first one.

You can stop future renewals at any time: on the web or in the desktop app from Settings → Account → Manage subscription, or through your app store's subscription settings if you subscribed on a phone. Cancelling is not the same as a refund: Premium carries on until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then stops.

7. Outside the 14 days

Write to us anyway. The 14 days is a promise we always keep, not the only circumstance in which we will help — if something went wrong, if you were charged twice, or if the app has not worked for you, we would rather sort it out than keep the money. We are a small independent studio and we would rather have your goodwill than twelve dollars.

If we ever had to close Tickbase, we would tell you as early as we possibly could: at least three months ahead wherever we are able to, and less only if we could no longer pay to keep it running. Export keeps working until the last day, Settings → Storage downloads every attachment you have added, and we would refund the unused part of every yearly subscription. Lifetime ends when Tickbase does and is not refunded at that point; see the terms.

8. Your legal rights

Nothing on this page reduces the rights you have under the consumer law that applies to you. In the UK and EU that normally includes a statutory 14-day right to cancel a purchase of digital content, and rights to a repair, replacement or refund if what you bought is faulty or not as described. Where our policy is more generous than the law, our policy applies.

Because Paddle is the seller of record for web purchases, Paddle's buyer terms also apply to those. Full details of pricing, trials and billing are in section 5 of our terms of service.
