New Year's resolutions · free for three a year

Keep your resolutions
past January.

Write a resolution the way you would say it. Tickbase breaks it into weekly steps, puts each one on your Today, and tells you how far ahead or behind you are, in days. When a week slips, it offers a new plan instead of a red bar.

How it works

One big thing, one week at a time

Say it in a sentence

Type "Read 24 books" or "Run 10 km a week" and the target, the unit and the weekly step fill themselves in. Or start from one of ours: the gym, saving, a new language. Plain pattern matching on your device, no AI.

A step each week

Each week's milestone lands on Today like any other task: "Read · up to 19 books". Tick it off and the bar moves. Weekly, fortnightly or monthly, on the day you choose, and anything extra counts too.

Know where you stand

Tickbase measures you against a steady line to your target: "11 days ahead", "3 weeks behind", and the day you will finish at the pace you are keeping. The arithmetic is shown, not hidden.

When a week slips

January is when resolutions get dropped. Tickbase plans for the week you miss.

Miss a couple of weeks and Tickbase does not just turn the bar red. It offers a new plan, worked out from where you are today, and you pick the one that suits you.

Missed milestones are cleared from your tasks instead of piling up as overdue, and nothing you ticked off is touched.

Catch up by 31 Dec 14 km a week instead of 10 km a week
Aim for 420 km Same milestones, instead of 500 km
Finish on 21 Feb Same milestones, more time
All year, not just January

So January's resolution still matters in June

On your home screen

A widget on iPhone and Android shows a resolution's ring and this week's step, and ticks it off without opening the app.

A note on the first of the month

One line for each resolution: how far ahead or behind you are, and where you will land. Every month, without opening anything.

Your Year in Review

In December, look back on the year: what you finished, your best day, how each resolution went. Then carry what you did not finish into the new year in one tap.

For some day rather than this year, there's the bucket list: things you'd love to do in your life, each with its steps, and no dates. When one's year comes, make it a resolution. How the bucket list works.

Private, like everything else in Tickbase

Resolutions are personal. Everything you sync is encrypted on your device before it is uploaded, and we don't read it. No AI, no ads, no tracking. How encryption works.

Three a year, free

Free accounts set three resolutions a year, and can plan next year's in December. Premium, $12 a year, has as many as you like and keeps every earlier year to look back on. See pricing.

Questions people ask

Do I need an account?

No. Open the web app and start; your resolutions stay in that browser. Sign in, free, to have them on your phone and computer too.

Can I set next year's resolutions now?

Yes. Step to next year on the Resolutions page. From December, Today asks you to plan the new year, and a free account gets three for each year, so this year's do not stand in the way.

What makes a good resolution here?

Anything you can count: 24 books, 500 km, 100 trips to the gym, 2,000 saved, 1,000 words of a new language. For something you do on a rhythm without a total, like stretching every morning, use a habit instead.

What happens to last year's resolutions?

They stay in your account. On the free plan the Resolutions page shows this year and next, and Premium keeps every earlier year to look back on. Anything you did not finish can be carried into the new year, on either plan.
